#St. Louis StopTheBans Rally October 2nd, 10 a.m.
Luther Ely Smith Square
20 N. 4th St. Saint Louis
In 2019, we all fought back against Missouri House Bill 126 and its attacks on Missourians' reproductive freedom. So far, federal courts have blocked HB 126's eight-week abortion ban, but the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals (one step from the Supreme Court) is considering whether to allow Missouri's ban to take effect. Come together to #StopTheBans, protect access to abortion, and demand reproductive freedom for all! What you can do for Missourians this week:
Call Gov. Parson (573) 751-3222 and tell him to pardon wrongfully convicted Missourians Kevin Strickland and Lamar Johnson. The story of these wrongfully convicted Missourians has made national news, as Governor Parson prioritized the pardon of the McCloskeys, the gun-toting couple who pleaded guilty to assault just recently. Meanwhile, Kevin Strickland has maintained his innocence for 43 years. We cannot stop advocating for Mr. Strickland and Mr. Johnson’s freedom.
Call Sen. Hawley and Sen. Blunt and tell them to PASS THE PRO ACT NOW! The U.S. Senate has just come back from recess and it’s past time we pushed our electeds to stand up for working people and to pass the PRO Act.
Sen. Blunt 202-224-5721
Sen. Hawley 202-224-6154

From the Candidates
We have invited Democratic Candidates (or, at the county level, “friendly” candidates) affecting St. Charles County to share some of their thoughts here. Each week we will try to include submissions from candidates at the county, state and federal level. Order of publication is based on order of receipt of the submission. Disclaimer: This is for the benefit of voter engagement, and does not represent an endorsement of any candidate by the St. Charles Co Democratic Central Committee.
From Jessica DeVoto, Candidate for MO House District 104 (pending redistricting)
"We need to talk about climate change. Climate change is real, and it’s an existential threat not only to Missourians but also to the entire world. We need to invest in sustainable energy and business practices. We've all felt the effects of climate change. In recent years, we've seen hotter summers, colder winters, increased precipitation and flooding, and more frequent tropical storms. We can’t solve climate change with a few pieces of legislation, but we can make baby steps by making sure we reward people and especially businesses for making eco-conscious choices, such as planting trees, avoiding plastic packaging, installing and maintaining electric vehicle charging stations, and for utility companies, moving toward renewable energy sources. Do you have an idea as to how we can mitigate climate change. I'd love to hear it. For contact information, please visit my website: jessicadevoto.com."

Indivisible We Will Persist St. Charles – Post Card Campaign
A NEW POSTCARD CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED!
Indivisible We Will Persist is working with Indivisible Philidelphia to inform PA voters about the American Rescue Plan. Surveys show that voters across the country are unaware of what was provided to them through this bill nor that NO Republican voted for this bill. If voters do not see a reason to vote Democratic in the 2022 elections, then the US Congress could shift to GOP control.
100 pre-printed postcards will be mailed to your home. You will write 2 SHORT sentences and the voter's address on the postcard and stamp and mail. You have 2 months to complete and mail the postcards. That is only 15 a week.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Linda Scroggin, Co-Leader Indivisible We Will Persist, at Lescrog@aol.com.
