What you can do for Missourians this week:

Sign this petition and call Governor Parson at 573-751-3222 and use the script below to tell Governor Parson to keep his hands out of Missourians' pockets:

"Governor Parson, you have the power and authority to authorize the complete forgiveness of unemployment overpayments made in error to hardworking Missourians. You must recognize the harm that forcing repayment can and will cause for Missouri families, and immediately ensure the Department of Labor stops collections on both the federal and state portions of unemployment overpayments."

Tue Jul 13 – League of Women Voters St. Charles Unit meeting – 10:30 a.m.

The Metro St Louis League received a grant to define Communities of Interest for five state senate districts in Missouri. St Charles County represents two of those five districts, SD2 and SD23, and the St Charles Unit has been charged with completing that task for those two districts.

A “Community of Interest” is a group of people who share cultural or historic characteristics or economic interests; are contiguous on a map; and share a common bond linked to a set of public policy issues that would be affected by legislation. What does this mean in practice and how do we approach this task?

Several of us have developed a plan to reach out to St Charles County high school students and we're having a small in-person meeting Tuesday at 10:30 am in O'fallon.

Please RSVP by calling 636-293-6864. We ask that you wear a mask if you're not fully vaccinated for Covid.
