Respect MO Voters

is pushing a petition to protect the initiative petition process. Republicans have been attacking this process as backlash for recent passage of abortion rights, Prop A, and Medicaid expansion. The GOP passed a ballot measure for 2026 to require a concurrent majority for any citizen-initiated petition that would gut the ability for direct democracy in the state. Respect MO Voters’ petition would protect IP by requiring an 80% majority vote in the House and Senate to overturn a citizen-initiated law or amendment and make it illegal for the legislature to pass any law that weakens the initiative or referendum powers of the people.

People Not Politicians

has launched a campaign using the referendum process to strike down the recently passed gerrymandered congressional maps. This referendum has 90 days to collect signatures to put the law on the ballot for the citizens to exert a veto of the maps.

Missouri Right to Education

has filed a petition to guarantee a fundamental right to an adequate and equitable public education in Missouri. It says the duty of the state is to establish and maintain high quality free public schools for all students.

MO for LGBTQ

is two different petitions. One would change the definition of marriage in statue to recognize marriage as between two consenting adults. The other is adding the terms sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, and pregnancy to anti-discrimination law for housing, employment, and public accommodations.
