With limited vaccines available through state distribution, and less-than- optimal distribution based on local populations, some vaccine opportunities can be identified both within and outside (sometimes far outside) St. Charles County through creative internet searching and tapping into social media. This depends frequently on being in the right place (website) at the right time, as when new appointments open, they are snapped up very quickly, sometimes in a matter of minutes.

  • Walgreens, and Walmart are having intermittent vaccine availability across the state, and provide search options on their websites, after you have created an account with them.

  • Hy-Vee in central MO has conducted clinics, and locations can be identified at

  • “Medicine Shoppe” franchises have had availability, and can be identified by Googling “Medicine Shoppe” and a town name, and then going the store’s website or making a phone call.

  • Vaccine Finder - is a search tool for finding opportunities in your area. It’s not always completely up-to-date, but it’s something.

  • The Face Book group St. Louis and Eastern Missouri Covid-19 Vaccine Info has rapidly updating information, frequently with links for area opportunities. For social media, this group is working hard to limit mis-information, and there are many people offering tips, and some good Samaritans actually sitting on this full-time, doing searches for people in need and finding appointments. .

  • Find the Face Book pages of surrounding county Health Departments, ”like” them and follow them – if they are having vaccination events and expect to have left-over vaccines, they have used Face Book to make a last-minute announcement.

  • Twitter – if you are an agile Twitter-user.

MISSOURI COVID-19 VACCINE RESOURCES All roads for state-sponsored mass vaccine events now lead to the Missouri Vaccine Navigator, to get in line based on your eligibility and your location. VACCINE NAVIGATOR Sign up here: MO Vaccine Navigator or call the state’s COVID-19 hotline at 877-435-8411 for assistance in connecting with additional avenues in which to receive a vaccine. MISSOURI MASS VACCINATION EVENTS MAP This map shows Missouri by region, with vaccinators identified, and scheduled mass events where available. Click here for the map: MO Mass Vaccination Events . This event listing became less useful in the past few days, because the event links began re-routing users back to the navigator, rather than allowing sign-up for events. This effectively cuts down the ability to proactively cross county/regional lines to participate in events outside your home area. ST CHARLES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH For questions about COVID-19 or assistance with registering to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, please call the Information Hotline at 636-949-1899, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mon-Fri. Whatever phase you are in, you can sign up NOW to be placed in a virtual queue. The registration survey is accessible in a red box marked “Register for COVID-19 Vaccine” following this link: We urge you to also sign up through your health care provider’s hospital affiliation (such as SSM, Mercy or BJC) and create a MyChart account, so that you can receive a vaccination in the timeliest manner. Currently, the St. Charles County Department of Public Health (DPH) is authorized by the State to administer COVID-19 vaccine to: Phase 1A Phase 1B - Tier 1 Phase 1B - Tier 2

Hospitals are not adhering strictly to the state phase guidelines, and may still be in earlier phases/tiers due to lack of vaccine supply. Area hospitals which also have sign-up sites for vaccines are:

St. Lukes:

When your phase is reached and enough vaccine has been allocated to the DPH, you will receive an email or automated voice message telling you that you can schedule an appointment for a vaccine.

Please check your email (inbox and spam folders) and phone messages daily for notification. It is important for you to understand that appointment time slots are limited. Respond quickly. The message will include information about the appointment, the vaccine administered, and how to contact the DPH if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Action items from the Missouri House Democratic Legislative Network (DLN):

1. Prop B passed in 2018 with 62.3% of the vote, raising the minimum wage in MO. HB 726 seeks to cut the minimum wage back to the 2006 standard that Missourians have already said wasn’t enough. Call Representatives Nick Schroer 573-751-1470, Danny Busick 573-751-3647, Allen Andrews 573-751-9465, Mitch Boggs 573-751-4077, Chris Brown 573-751-9458, Bill Falkner 573-751-9755, Jim Murphy 573-751-3719, Chris Sander 573-751-9766, Bruce Sassman 573-751-1344, Adam Schwadron 573-751-1452, Brian Seitz 573-751-1309, and Travis Smith 573-751-2042 and tell them to vote NO on HB 726. Stand with MO workers, and tell these reps to vote NO.

2. Call your Representative and ask them to support HB 1083. Missourians who filed for unemployment in good faith should not be punished for a state error. You can find your representative here: Find Your Rep

3. And while you’re on the phone with your Rep, tell them to vote NO on changes to the Initiative petition process. There are a dozen bills that will drastically erode citizens ability to take part in and influence their democracy. Missouri's COVID-19 voting provisions expired on Dec. 31, 2020. With upcoming municipal elections in early 2021, please join the Missouri Voter Protection Coalition's campaign to urge Missouri Governor Mike Parson to use his emergency authority to extend Missouri's COVID-19 safe voting provisions so that all Missourians can vote safely.
