MISSOURI COVID-19 VACCINE RESOURCES

Per Gov. Mike Parson: Missouri state is expanding its eligibility to Phase 3 on Friday April 9. Phase 3 will open eligibility to all adult Missourians who did not yet qualify for a vaccine.

New CDC guidelines: Apr 2 CDC Travel Guidelines

Given recent studies evaluating the real-world effects of vaccination, CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people can travel at low risk to themselves. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last recommended dose of vaccine. But the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that even though fully vaccinated individuals are at lower risk of infection, travel is still not recommended due to the rising number of cases in the United States and globally.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky cautioned in a White House briefing Friday that while fully vaccinated people can now travel at low risk to themselves, “I would advocate against general travel overall. Our guidance is silent on recommending or not recommending fully vaccinated people travel. Our guidance speaks to the safety of doing so.”

Fully vaccinated people can travel within the United States and do not need COVID-19 testing or post-travel self-quarantine as long as they continue to take COVID-19 precautions while traveling – wearing a mask, avoiding crowds, socially distancing, and washing hands frequently. Due to the large number of Americans who remain unvaccinated and the current state of the pandemic, CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people continue to take COVID-19 precautions, such as wearing a mask, social distancing, washing hands frequently and avoiding crowds when in public, when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple other households, and when around unvaccinated people who are at high risk of getting severely ill from COVID-19.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN JEFFERSON CITY?

Action items from the Missouri House Democratic Legislative Network (DLN):

1. Call and tell your legislator that we need to fully fund Medicaid expansion, as required by our constitution and voted on by Missourians. The GOP is working on a way around fully funding the voter approved Medicaid expansion. If passed, and found constitutional, this stunt could lead to Missouri losing billions in federal funding that supports rural hospitals and providing affordable healthcare to hundreds of thousands of Missourians. 2. HJR 26 and 22 as well as HB 556 are all slated to be on the House floor for perfection Tuesday, April 6th and will drastically erode citizens ability to take part in and influence their democracy. Call your Representative and tell them to vote NO on changes to the Initiative petition process.

3. HB 1416 is an unnecessary bill that opens the door to discrimination against transgender and gender-expansive people. This bill violates religious freedom while posing as an attempt to protect it. Using a restroom is a basic human need we all share, and this bill puts that access in jeopardy for members of our community. Take a moment now in calling Missouri House leadership asking them not to bring this unnecessary, dangerous HB 1416 to the House floor.

Speaker Rep. Rob Vescovo: 573-751-3607

Rep. Dean Plocher: 573-751-1544

Rep. John Wiemann: 573-751-2176
